Dr Bernard Chin FRACP
Dr Bernard Chin is the principal of Cairns Gastroenterology, which he founded in 2007 after completing his Advanced Training in Gastroenterology in Sydney.
Dr Chin specialised in luminal interventional endoscopy and emerging small bowel investigations and has a strong interest in the latest endoscopic obesity treatments and bowel cancer screening.
Since 2007, Dr Chin has contributed to the Cairns public health sector with weekly endoscopy and clinic sessions at the Cairns Hospital (formerly the Cairns Base Hospital) – a public health service he continues to provide to this day.
Dr Chin also further assists the public health system by reducing the rural waiting lists for urgent endoscopy in regional areas of Far North Queensland, such as Atherton and Innisfail.
Dr Chin is passionate about medical training and continues to practice on a part time basis at the Cairns Hospital (Queensland Health) where he trains the Gastroenterology registrars.
